This story appears in eWeek written by Nate Mook of BetaNews.

As far as I can see the latest Netscape browser is not making inroads against Internet Explorer and developers are just ignoring it.

The Communicator may well be the killer app that AOL desperately needs to renew growth.

I think it is a wise move for AOL. I think they know their users and need to cater to their needs instead of trying to proliferate a less than desirable program to their members.

Doesn't matter one way or the other for the developer. Designing for the new Communicator is identical to designing for Netscape 7 is identical to designing for Mac AOL is identical to designing for any other Gecko browser. Who among us has anything investing in the Netscape brand name?
