If an app works on Safari for windows, will it work on Macs?

Safari on Windows versus Safari on Macs ( and browsrcamp.com)

This may be a silly question, but if my web application runs on Safari under Windows, is that sufficient proof it will run on Macs?

If the answer is no, does anyone have experience with browsrcamp.com [browsrcamp.com] Is this a good and affordable method for testing?

Thanks in advance

Sorry... I don't have an answer. I tried to dig around for an answer with no luck. I was wondering the same myself actually.

My employer wouldn't let me have a Mac. So when I browser test my sites I have to use Safari for windows and I have no idea if it will look or function the same in safari on mac.

is that sufficient proof

I would say "high probability" that it will be fine in most cases.

But I have - rarely - seen JavaScript fail on Mac Safari that worked on Windows Safari.

There is no substitute for proper testing.

Although it's been suggested, please verify - what language?

Javascript (or VBScript?) - probably, as long as you use DOM methods and your page validates to Standards Compliance Mode.

PHP, Perl, ASP, other server side language - definately, as this has little to do with browser dependence.

Languages: PHP, javascript, JQuery

Packages used: fckeditor, OpenX

Sounds like I may be OK, then? Obviously I will try and get my hands on a MAC or try out the browsrcamp service I mentioned. Anyone got any experience with that, by the way?

Thanks for the responses.
