i have a h1 that i have set to Times new roman, times, serif.

below that i have some <p> text set to Arial, Helvetica, san serif...

i want to know if there is another font family i can use for the h1 to give it some realy contrast... something new that can be rendered in most browsers...

i see all of these trendy sites with a realy nice serif font, rounded edges, bubble look.... in contrast to the arial paragraph font i have...

is there anything new out there that i can try?

are browsers rendering more fonts these days?

I sometimes use this for a serif font, with good results --

font-family:Palatino,Georgia,Times New Roman,serif;

You can also check out the free Flash solution called sIFR (Scalable Inman Flash Replacement). It will allow you to embed a very dramatic font for your headlines that most visitors will be able to see, and it degrades gracefully if the user-agent is not Flash-enabled.
