no way to get rid of ad popups

Due to a general strike and some violent events in FR, I went to www.lci.fr (kind of other world wide CNN)
I changed the popup set up accordingly to Chrome instructions.
but no way to get rid of popups

any idea?

I suggest using Firefox with adblock add-on.
