Meta tag outside head

I've got a cms that on two specific pages won't allow me to insert metatags into the head of the page.

Can I insert a description metatag somewhere in the body of the page and still have it found and used by the search engines?

You cannot. No one will read this tag. And you won't pass XHTML validator this way, that is to say. You better update your CMS or use another one.

Their "error correction" might find it, but you would be wise to NOT rely on that. Ever.
