I'm currently project managing a new site build, and we're looking at using the 100% fit to screen resolution to allow for different users to see everything nicely.

I have been advised by our techie guys that we can't use this though - because our site has a large flash console within it. They say the flash wont stretch and reduce, and that we'll need to stick with the standard 1024 x768.

Can anyone give some advice on this?

Thanks

They're right, and wrong.

Flash is a vector application - SWF's scale perfectly and can be constrained and centred with the right bit Actionscript.

I think what they were probably saying is that the console might start to look a little messy if it scales for really large or small displays. So a medium needs to be found - max width and height - keeping the image in proportion - not too distended.
