IE7 is crashing frequently for me

I use main Firefox but keep IE around for stuff and lately this browser crashes, crashes crashes. I'll spend several minutes clicking, then (not responding). I'll reopen it and several clicks later crashes again.
I've tried weeding out possible reasons like clearing temp files and history and undoing the IE Tab extension for FF.

Should I attempt reinstall? Please give URL. < One site I tried > has lots of phishing correlations.

And upon reinstall all updates and add-ons associated will be effected.

Please advise here.

You probably won't find the solution there.

I have had this problem for a year. The main advice on their website seems to be based on uninstalling add ins. I tried uninstalling each of mine in turn and nothing changed. I am afraid it's just a crap browser.
