Hello,

Is is possible to open a tab in browsers that support it, and a new window where not? I don't want to do browser sniffing, but don't know enough about detecting for capabilities.

I saw a thread from 2003 with this question saying it's not possible, but am hopeful we've grown up since then.

Also, not sure if this should be on css forum.

New tabs/windows are handled by the browser itself, and are directly related to the users settings. As far as I am aware, you have no control over which one is used.
