Graphic and text version

Is it good or is it spam?

Hi guys!
I've a question of you:

I've realized a web site with Fireworks ( needed for easily introduce swap images due to my javaScript ignorance )and Dreamweaver . Apart for this I've realized a only text version too for better usability and search engine robots too.
Should I exclude in the robots.txt the "graphic" version or not? What is your opinion?

Any similar experiences?

Bye

If the content is really different, I'd let them both be spidered, eg, if the text is actually only gifs, jpgs, or pngs on the graphic version.

However, if there is the *same text* on each, I'd let the text version see the spiders...

Though personally, I find the most success with a site that is good for people and bots. The one time I did a graphic and text version of a site for myself was two years ago, and it didn't do nearly as well as the sites I've done when designed for bots and people.

Ok thanks for your suggestion,
I think I'll let spidered both version.
I'll inform you on results.

If you wish to keep the content the same on both sites than use the robots.txt file to stop the bots crawling one of the sets of pages. That way you don't get penalised for spam.

Right that was exactly the way I was thinking to do, thanks for confirming my opinion :)
