Site works in FF by not in IE - Why?

I have a friend who's site works fine when viewed in FireFox or Safari but will NOT display in Internet Explorer 6 or 7. (Rarely it will show up but when you refresh it never comes back.)

How can that be?

Run a problem page from the site through an HTML validator.

If that doesn't tell you anything, make a copy of a sample page. Keep simplifying the code by removing feature after feature from the HTML/CSS/Javascript until the problem goes away.

Thanks. Unfortunately I don't have access to work on this site.

It turned out to be an issue with the tracking software he used and how it was setting cookies. Still don't know why just IE was affected by it.
