Sorry if this is old news, but on a whim I downloaded the latest Safari Windows beta and it's much better than the previous offerings (which didn't work on many sites, even popular ones such as blogspot, or just plain crashed on some stuff like exotic character sets).

Now it works properly (as far as I can see; no doubt there are still some glitches in there), I find I quite like it. It feels very snappy even though I'm running it in XP on VMWare on a PC which is about 4 years old.

Thanks for mentioning.

It is indeed much improved: it now actually works! Bold text is visible! It hasn't even crashed during the 5 minutes I used it!

It seems a nice browser. One thing is for me standing out as being annoying: the display of fonts (not a small thing). Apparently that display is "improved," and they call it "font smoothing." Unfortunately, you can only reduce that to "light," while I'd like to turn it off completely.

It takes everything I particularly like of my favorite font out, which is Trebuchet MS. That font now looks ordinary and frayed. Actually, all fonts look frayed and unsharp, while I like it crisp. But perhaps that's just so on a CRT monitor, which I prefer because of its superior display as compared to LCD.

I never had any major problems with 3.00 here. I think I downloaded it within two days of the initial release.

Within a matter of days, 3.01 was released; and a week or so later 3.02 arrived.

I am surprised that more than a month has elapsed with no further updates.

I expected a new release every few weeks at this stage of the development.

I guess the next release will have a lot of changes.
