Hello all...I am new to websites and learning lots as I go. I have a vbulletin site and i want to change the header or top of the page to something custom. I want to have my logo, links, and an ad banner above my forums.

Here's my question. How do I that? I mean, I know I have to edit the HTML in the templates, but I do not know which template I have to edit so that no matter what page you are on, the top of my page appears the exact same. Also, I have looked in the templates and don't seem to be as easy to read as if you were to open up the "source" under "view" in the browser and look at the code. Hope this makes sense...Any info would be helpful...thank you.

Why don't you go to VBulletin for help? Not only would their documentation cover it, but their forums too.

I agree VBulletin is a little complicated when it comes to that stuff.
I happen to administrate a VBulletin forum, and I do know the answer to your question.
I do not know how to do it to ALL the skins and styles though, without changing each template separately (which is a hassle)

Firstly, the top banner itself should be pretty easy to change.
In fact the rest of hte header stuff should be easy too. It's the stuff inside and inbetween the forums that's the trickiest to access.

Anyways... go to adminCP, and go to the style manager. Select the style you want and choose "All style options".
This will let you edit all the CSS as well as some dimensions, and image paths.
Title Image is the one you want to change the banner image.
Header (the first box, also quite large) is the one you want to edit for adding anything else, such as quicklinks or what-not.

My VB version is 3.5.2 ,so the specifics might not be the very same as for you, but it should be about the same.

Thanks for the reply...I have posted over there. Unfortunately they aren't that helpful for someone new. Most of there answers are weak at best. They assume you have a ton of knowledge at this stuff, hence why I say I am new, but that doesn't seem to help. I'll probably end up paying someone to do what I need to do.
