Can't type @ sign in contact form in firefox?

I've made a flash site and have incorporated it into a php page (for several unrealated reasons!)

However the contact form (that works with html) is not allowing me to input @ sign with UK keyboards and recognises it as " like a US keyboard in firefox but works with IE. Is there any known fix for this with firefox?

This is very odd and seems more like an issue with the client machine than the page. Are you setting the pages language anywhere (using the lang attribute [w3.org])?
