I've created a webpage with some animated gif images (paintings fading from one to another - its a gallery website for an artist)... each animated image is a link through to a further static gallery page showing each selection of paintings.

Basically, when I view the page(s) with my tower/desktop pc NONE of the images show, neither the animated gifs or the static gallery pages - but on checking with my laptop everthing is just as it should be.

This is the case in both IE and Firefox (in both cases, ie on desktop nothing shows in either browser, but on the laptop everything is fine in both browsers).

What this leads me to believe is that is got to be something to do with the settings on the desktop pc... but what? I've looked at the internet options etc and can't see anything different between the 2 pcs.

Any suggestions? All help very gratefully received!

Thanks :O)

Make sure that your src's are not pointing to an original image in your file system. (i.e. <image src="file:///C:/Some/Folders/Picture.jpg">). That could cause the scenario you are describing. It would find the image on the one computer, but not the other.

If that's not it - have you tested it on other machines? Is it live? You could send a link.

Thanks - but the laptop ISN'T the machine the pages were created on - and the customer can see the images fine on her computer too!

Its definitely not the location of the images thats causing the problem....

The page (if you want to replicate, or attempt to) is:

< removed >

Fingers crossed.... I'm convinced its something to do with my settings - but just not sure what?!?!?!?!

Weird.

It worked fine for me. The only way I can replicate it is by right-clicking (firefox) and selecting "Block Images from..."

Good luck!
