So, I keep trying to set my home page (through Options, drag and drop,
Use Current) to Google.com, but whenever I reopen a browser (IE 7 or
Firefox 2) I get redirected to MSN. The URL in my homepage options is
:http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir.dll?prd=ie&pver=6&ar=msnhome. I
can't change this. I know how it's supposed to work when I go into the
options and change it, or drag it onto the Home button, but it keeps coming back.

I have run Microsoft Defender I am not running AVG 7.5 antispyware, but it is only uncovering the normal cookie stuff (doubleclick, tacoda, etc.) I really don't think it's spyware because I don't know why it would always return me to MSN.com.

I am using a Thinkpad t60. Any thoughts would be great. I am really
frustrated with this.

thanks,
Chris

Are you using *any* search toolbars or the MSN browser? If so, look at their options settings, as many of these add-ons have settings like "Lock my preferred search provider" and similar. The same is true for many anti-virus and anti-spyware software packages such as Spybot Search and Destroy -- Many utilities and programs allow you to lock your "home page" and search provider selections, and you may have inadvertently locked-in MSN search.
