New Window vs. New Tab if IE 7.0

Hey all I just have a quick question. I'm used to coding my targets for link when I want a new IE to open with the "_blank" callout but since the new version of IE has come out, 7.0, i'm wondering what the new code is to tell the browser to either open a new instance of IE 7.0 or to just make a new tab. I'd like to be able to tell the browser that if it is 7.0 and can make use of tabs then to make a tab otherwise if it's a previous version I want it to just make a new window.

Anybody got any clues as to what we'll be doing with this new IE makeover and these issues?

Can you target tabs in FF... Opera...? No, I don't think so. It's very much a browser setting at the client end. In FF for instance you can set it to open new tabs instead of opening new windows. I suspect IE7 is the same in this respect... unless they've gone and decided to whack some IE proprietary stuff in again?!

Yes, this is not something you can do on your end. It all depends on the user's settings. Only they can decide if a link pops a new window or a new tab.
