Certainly I can stay with IE 6 so I can use Web Trends, but I have many clients who will probably upgrade to IE 7 and not be able to see their Web Trends reports.
Just wanted to see if anyone had further insights into this issue....
One blogger reports that only some installations of IE7 have a problem - but offers no insight on what the critical factors might be. That same blog reported Webtrends is aware of the issue and they told him they will fix the issue on their next release.
Another blog reported that there is no timetable for the fix yet in place from Webtrends. No official word on the Webtrends website so far that I can find.
Other blogs are reporting that several other widely used applications are also not working on IE7 -- but since they don't say whether the flaw is with IE7 or non-standard in the application (which of course IE6 encouraged) it's hard to know what course to take -- wait for the app to be fixed or wait for IE7 to be patched.
Sounds like a decent warning -- have a Plan B ready if you upgrade to IE7 right now. I have upgraded and have not run into problems with any CMS or application that must be viewed in IE or that taps into the IE rendering engine.
