How can I Put only one Posting on The blog homepage?

All the postings on my blog appear on the blog homepage, so visitors have scroll down long & long the reach to the end of the home page

Please advise me:

How can I leave only the latest posting on the homepage. Please help me or give me the code.

This will depend very much on the particular blogging software you are using - Blogger, WordPress, MovableType, AnyRandomBlog, etc. etc...?

Some will support this from the outset, some won't, in which case it *might* be possible to write your own, but again this will depend very much on which blogging software you are using...

In Blogger, under Settings > Formatting - the first option enables you to display a set number of days or a set number of posts on the main page.
