Can't Remember The Website!

There is/was a site that allowed you to type in or upload (i'm not sure which, possible both options) a webpage, and it would output a few pictures showing what the site would look like over multiple browsers. I used to have dial-up so it was useless unless you wanted to wait half an hour for the site to respond, but now that im on broadband, I wish I had kept the link. Does anyone remember the site, or is there another way, possible software based that would allow me to check compatibility over many borwsers without going and downloading each and every one? Any help would be great, thanks in advance.

You could also go to this ressource [browsers.evolt.org] and then you can install whichever browser(s) you want ;-)..

IE 7 in beta 3 can be found elsewhere with a little effort as a standalone install to be downloaded ( and the searching for it will take you to usefull and interesting places )..especially if you are looking for updates ..

Most browsers can be used on the same machine caveat...( providing you have the correct OS or VM etc) as a "standalone"

For example IE 6 and IE7 ) can be used side by side on the same machine ( search "standalone IE 7 install" ) for example ...to find the hacks needed to run two or more IE's on the same machine ..

( I think that the problems with IE7 trashing IE6 were the subject of a thread here at WebmasterWorld a short time ago? )

I run additional machines ( one laptop and one desk )with a whole slew of browsers on each ..just for checking "how it looks" and "what breaks" ( neither machine actually has a physical connection to the innnerweb tubes ) all installed browsers are as standalones ..

If you are already running IE and want to keep your version (? ) ...you will have to disable the auto update "feature" or MS will just trash it to put IE 7 over the top of it when the rollout starts ( the rollout is heavily rumoured as likely to use something very similar to the beta 3 version ) ..somethings are fixed and some are not ;-) ..comme d'hab'..

Regarding it's CSS handling one of IE's engineers ( chris wilson) has a blog ( can't link to it from here TOS ) ..brave guy ( he left comments open ;-)..he's taken a lot of stick on it for the "5 year wait since IE6" and the "deliberate" non standards behaviour issues ..

A rumour has started elsewhere ( on an MS IE team blog ) that they are already working on IE8 ( outsourced to the IDC )..or they are going to be using octal or something ..

The standalone IE7 ( even in beta ) is usefull (for site dev work ) to attempt to iron out whatever new hacks ( and tweak old ones ) may be needed before joe and jane surfer get this new improved flavour browser in their auto update or shiny new 3d graphically enhanced bloatware / OS.
