just to comfort you, I have the same problem. I'm assuming its spyware. By any chance has your system clock changed too...and I assume you are meaning Internet Explorer?
either way, one way to get round it is right click with internet explorer and go to "copy shortcut" and use CTRL + V in the address bar of the new window
I tried the to do the right click and copy still does not work. I cant even look at my own profiles on any of my accounts even with webmasters, because when the window pops up its just a blank document.
You might even consider browser alternatives such as Opera, Mozilla or Netscape 7.
Do the search in any event... there is a lot of information on this subject.
What versions of Windows and IE are you running?
This is something potentially far too serious to "guess" with. The solution may be rather complex.
Win 98 had the msconfig.exe program that could be launched from the run menu (msconfig), the program featered an "Startup" tab that would allow you to "uncheck" programs that were launched at start-up. Almost certainly, there is an entry in your registry that ensures the scumware routine is relaunched at every reboot. that is why it can be such a pain to rid a system of these exploits. I strongly suspect that there is something similar to regedit -s C\Windows\sp.dll executing each time you reboot. The example is of a little program that takes over IE's default search page as well as imposing its own homepage. Again, this is just an example, but most likely some similar routine is being run. For Win98 users, running msconfig and unchecking a suspicious entry to prevent it from launching is a first step at removal.
Do the searches as mentioned, read all you can. You may find help at M$'s own site. If you are not sure of what is going on after checking online documentation, then you may need professional service. I wish there was an easy answer, but there is not. There are hundreds, if not thousands of nasty little scripts just waiting to take over your browser. What's done is done. By all means be careful finding a solution. If you are not certain how to proceed... then don't! It will be much safer to find someone (pc/tech/service)close at hand who has experience with this than erring and making matters worse. Proceed cautiously!
