Frames do not completely load.........why?

I've nearly completely a new design which features frames. Often when the page loads, using IE6, not all the frames finish loading. Hitting refresh generally clears it up, but this is not acceptable. What causes this, especially since this is running on my local PC and there is no link speed/bandwidth issues? What can I do to resolve it?

Also, when I have tested the site with Netscape 6.2, most of the frames fail to load and in the frames it indicates that "there are too many users". I found that if I close most of the applications on my desktop, the problem goes away. This implies that Netscape requires lots of RAM to function correctly. Is there anything that can be done to limit the amount of RAM a frame uses?

Hello tesla,

I've seen similar occurances. Much depends not only on the actual system resources, but the size and content of the frames themslves.

What other browsers have you tested with?

I do most of my testing with IE6.0 The problem I described first, occurs with IE6.0

I generally test with IE6, Netscape6.2 and Netscape 4.7.

The first resort I'd look to is validation. Partial loading can often be a code problem - and often a major one (unclosed tags, bad tag nesting, etc.)
