I was just checking to see if IE had released a patch yet for the Address Bar Spoofing vulnerability [webmasterworld.com] and they have not. It has been a month since it was discovered.

While viewing the Secunia Advisories, I noticed that there are quite a few more that should be brought to light...

Internet Explorer "object" Tag Memory Corruption Vulnerability

[secunia.com...]

Highly critical - 2006-04-25

Michal Zalewski has discovered a vulnerability in Internet Explorer, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

Firefox Multiple Vulnerabilities

[secunia.com...]

Highly critical - 2006-04-14

Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in Firefox, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and phishing attacks, bypass certain security restrictions, disclose sensitive information, and potentially compromise a user's system.

And then the popular phpbb continues to have security issues that are highly critical.

It looks like Firefox has joined the likes of IE and will continue to garner miscreant's attention as it gains more market share.

Are we moving into a Disposable Browser market? Is there a browser that is impervious to these threats?

The secunia advisory provides that upgrading firefox to the latest version will fix this, right?
Til the next advisory at least.
