Locate link browser

Clicking on a URL in Outlook doesn't open it

I have a problem which has been reported by others, but the 2 posted solutions I've seen don't seem to work for me. I have XP Home and IE6. I have just uninstalled SP2 and repair/reinstalled XP successfully to fix a corrupted file, but now when I click on a URL in Outlook 2000 the link won't work andI just get a dialog box (My Documents) entitled Locate Link Browser. When I go to My Computer¦Tools¦Folder Options¦File Types¦URL:Hypertext Transfer Protocol¦Advanced, the box is completely empty and the edit box is grayed out - there is nothing to edit. Should there be? Is that the problem. If so, what do I do about it? And if it isn't, what is? Any (detailed) help would be hugely appreciated - this is driving me nuts! Would an alternative browser answer the problem?

Thanks.

The link below explains how to open Firefox from Outlook (but I haven't tested it). With a little experimentation, you should be able to fix your problem.

I knew there was a simple answer! The Reset Web Options did the trick. Many thanks and sorry to waste your time!
