Has anyone else noticed that? I haven't gotten to try IE7 yet, but I just read that the popup blocker blocks everything, even requested, user-initiated popups. That could have a major impact on some sites, such as the ones that use requested popups for help windows, extra information, etc.

If this is a feature, it won't last into the final product. As you say, there are too many sites which depend on this behaviour. The pop-up blocker in IE6 XP SP2 should be a good guide as to the behaviour of IE7.
One change that will almost certainly be retained in the final version is the enforced address bar on every window - this has been introduced by Microsoft for security (anti-phishing) reasons in the IE7 beta.

That's great news! I am glad to see MS finally taking the problems seriosly!
