Soon after IE 5.0 came out, some additional add-ons were released which improved its capabilities. Two of these were the handy abilities, from a context menu choice, to generate a page listing all of the links on the current page, counting them as well, or to generate a page listing all of the images in the current page, with stats of their file size, # of times used, and even some guesses at download time based on internet connection speed.

Now that we're in the new and "improved" world of IE 6, is this functionality still around? Or, with other browsers - say, Firefox, or Safari?

The benefits to webmasters in general, and SEO people specifically, are obvious.

The page you linked to at Oracle contains this sentence:

Not for IE 5 only
Although Microsoft’s Web site cautions that these add-ons are only for IE 5.x, they install and work on IE 6.

And yes, very similar functionality is available in Opera and Firefox (through extensions)

Hey, it happens. I'm glad to know about these add-ons. They probably slipped right past me since for years I've only usde IE when I absolutely must - testing and obstinate websites like my bank.
