Is there a script I can add to put a section on my right frame that automatically updates and lists the most recent content added?

That would be dependant on how you generate your content in the first place. It should be quite do-able if you are using a CMS that keeps your articles in a database...but note that this will be definitely be a script, as you said,and not HTML.
