I have a weird problem on my pc that I have tried everything I can think of to fix. It started months ago. Every time I try to go to Yahoo.com from my PC, I get a blank page. When I hit my "refresh" button, it loads. I have no idea what's causing it. Some time prior to this problem, I had Yahoo.com set as my home page for a few days, but I don't see why that would cause this problem later. I am using IE 6.0.

I know this is kind of a weird posting, but any help would be appreciated. It's driving me nuts.

There is your problem, IE! IoI... download and use Firefox...

[mozilla.org...]

You'll also want to scan your computer for spyware so I'd suggest downloading ad-aware and I'd even dare suggest a microsoft product (anti-spyware) as it's the only free realtime scanner that I am aware of.

Thanks for the suggestions. However, I have tried Firefox (no luck) and run anti-spyware every week.

Sounds strange especially that it happens in Firefox also. Try a proxy and see if it comes up straight away, if so it might be at your isp's end. Also press control and f5 when at Yahoo and see if that does anything.

That works the same as "refresh" -- it brings up the page. Does that signify anything?

Control and f5 gets the latest page from the server and deletes cache version which refresh/f5 doesn't. Does it still happen? Have you tried a online proxy, try anonymouse or something similar.

Every week? That's all? Were I the sole user of a machine, I might be so bold, but as others have access, I can only tip my hat to you and your confidence.

I used anonymouse and the page came up right way. What does that signify? (I'm obviously a bit out of my depth here!)

Kevin: I am the only user of this machine.
