IE6 always wants to do the searching

Hi all,

If this has been addressed in earlier posts, please accept my appologies.

The issue I'd like help with is that evert time I launch a new browser window and go to use my google toolbar to search or even to type in a URL, IE keeps putting the cursor in the MSN "search the web" box. It's a real pain because I find myself having to type things three or four times or have to wait for it to stop doing this.

Is this a function of IE? Can it be changed so that it's not such a pain in the rear? I'd appreciate any comments.

PS, I like having the MSN page as my home. Thanks.

I've never noticed this, but it sounds like a function of the MSN page - it only happens once, right? My guess is that the MSN search box grabs focus as its final action after the page loads fully - and you're trying to enter a search term while the page is still loading.

Most search engines have this automatic focus programmed in, but most of them also have leaner pages than MSN does and finish loading quite fast

Thankk for the info guys. You would think with all this modern technology, we could at least find a way around this?

Well then either wait for the page to finish loading or hit the stop button before you try enterering into your Google toolbar.
