Guys,

You were so helpful before can you please give me an additional bit of guidance.

A link to a page in the Amazon Associates program looks like this:
[amazon.co.uk...]
(where the XXXXXX-XX is the Amazon Associate's reference and 0385492677 is the reference number of the item - book/CD etc.)

and creates a page with the URL:
[amazon.co.uk...]

Please what is it doing with the creative= camp= etc. at the end of the URL. Do you think this is just a way of Amazon collecting statistical data?

I appreciate any guidance here or if you can point me to where I can find it.

Many thanks

Mark Barrett

The information listed after the? in the amazon url is tracking data. Is this a link from a red banner, blue banner, text etc? You generally dont want to mess with the info after the? because that is normally where affiliate programs put your affilaite id.

Appreciate your reply

The affiliate ID is back before the? - I showed it as XXXXXX-XX, but I agree that it would be very dangerous to mess with that stuff after the?

At the least it must provide statistical data and at most it may well integrate with the ID to calculate the affiliate's referral fees.

Thanks again
