<meta name="MSSmarttagsPreventParsing" content="TRUE" /> Can anyone tell me what this means and what does it do?

Ages ago Microsoft offered 'Smart Tags', a product not unlike the Google Autolink thing whereby they would have words on a webpage displayed in the coming Internet Explorer (IE) automagically linked to the highest bidder. The problems were obvious (the word 'book' linking to Amazon... on Barnes and Noble site?) They bowed to public pressure and supplied the meta tag you show here to allow a page to opt out, and it never made it past beta, the public outcry was too big. But some people don't trust them not to try it again at some point and include the meta tag in their pages even now. I believe it still works in Office, though.
