Can't run java applets on a framed page...

Hello,

I'm new here and I have a question. I design a frame-based website, and I want to run a java applet on a framed page. If I open the page without the frameset, the applet does work, but within the frameset, the applet does NOT work. Can anyone explain ths, and, more important, can anyone tell me how to solve this problem?

Not certainty here, but a very strong sense that this is a security block of some kind - to keep spoofing and cross-domain hacking to a minimum/

No, I don't think so. Even if I run everything from the harddisc (applet and html docs) the applet doesn't run in frames.
