This is following on from my recent posting.

Have just visited a website where I wanted to click on a link on the page - nothing happened - but I noticed that down in the bottom left hand sidde of the webpage is said:

vbscript:newin("jobsdetail.asp?id=1550")

Is it trying to run a VB scripot and my browser isn't letting it?

Help please as this is becoming a real pain...

cheers,

Phil

Welcome to the forums, Phil.

In IE, look under TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS > SECURITY and work with those settings.

The default is set to medium, but you can click on the "CUSTOM LEVEL" button instead of just trying to move the slider down to a lower level. If you are fully updated, I don't think IE will let you do that anyway!

Also, if you're using any browser that's not IE the likelyhood is that VBScript simply won't run.

And anyway letting VBS run on your machine is a very very bad idea ..If you'd like to avoid it being rapidly "owned" by any ten year old from Rio with an access and a sense of humour ..or tweak your security systems to allow VBS only when entering sites that you know are benign and that are seen to be unhacked when you pre visit with another browser or in source only ..
