Which is right?

OK I have read other threads that state the Google directory score is out of 8 and the toolbar is out of 10. Sounds fine to me, and seems normal for sites Toolbar-PR 7 and under for what I have observed.

But take a look at this directory:
[directory.google.com...]
Mondera.com is 8 listed in the directory. (this would make it 8/8 or 10/10???? Go to the website, and the toolbar says 8/10. 80%..... so why doesn't google directory show it as a "7" --- 7/8 or 87.5% ????

Can someone clarify please? Thanks.

I don't see where the figures comes from born2drv.

32/40 = 0.8 or 8/10, not 8/8.

32/40? Where do those numbers come from? 32? 40?

Can you tell me the mathematical relationship between Google Toolbar PR and Directory PR?

I thought the "score" was out of 8 for the directory, and out of 10 for the toolbar. So a 8/8 in the directory would make it PR10 (which isn't right)

From measuring the number of pixels in the green bar (in most browsers, right click and 'Properties').

Nope.:) Chris_R was thinking of posting back on that if I recall correctly.

But where did you measure the 8/8?

[webmasterworld.com...]

This scale hasn't changed and should answer your question.

ciml... I am going by the green bar in that directory link (see first message).

In the directory, Mondera.com shows what would be a PR8 on the google toolbar. This would make it 8/8?

The site you mentioned has a Toolbar PR of 8/10 and a Category PR of 6/7. On the scale I described above, it would be an 8x6 = 48.

Dan's the man. Thanks. Can you just explain one more thing to me please? How do you get a 6/7 for it's directory score?

To my eyes, the directory has only ever had 7 levels. I don't count a completely white bar as a level, otherwise there would be 8. Therefore the directory ranks are 1-7. After viewing plenty of PR graphics, you can tell what the PR is straight away.

I don't know if that's good or bad. ;)
