Instead of hidding text by making it the same colour as the background or using microdot links which are easy to detect, you can hide it behind an image! There's nearly no way a robot can detect it.
Anyone else got any techniques the robots can't easily catch?
Ok, so let's see:
1] I'm a spammer, because I use tricks with Google to gain higher positions than my competitor.
I assume also that my site has the same quality/relevance than competitor site.
2] I'm not a spammer [maybe I don't know how to do].
I want to beat my competitor.
So, I trick this forum.
So, what is 'better'?

But, seriously, I like the post that differentiates between quality content and focused content.
After getting listed in Google, I did find it annoying that Google could find my site for "widget" but not for "widgets" or "widget selection" because I have "widget" on the page but just don't happen to have "widgets" or "widget selection" on my pages. (Keywords have been changed to protect the innocent)
So, yes, I set up some new pages that have "widget selection" and "widgets" on them so that I am found on those keywords too.
I for one don't think that's spam. I think it's going the extra mile to be helpful to searchers and simultaneously paying homage to Google. I'm curious -- Does Google think that's a spam technique even if the visitor to the site is thankful for having found it and doesn't view it as anything close to spam?

Definitly, the first. We are all triying to get high positions. Good content is not always a guarantee and little tricks (of course, not this trick but others) can be helpful.
