All we are seeing now with backlinks is everything that has been "rolling" over the last month or so.
The effects on the serps are constantly changing. The only time we will see a big upgrade or downgrade is when Google tweak their algo. Not when they decide to show us how many backlinks they are giving us credit for. Times are ever changing.
I hope I am wrong because I would love for Google to give me a "sudden boost" for the 3xPR6 links I got last month that are now showing in my backlinks, but I am not holding my breath.
A couple of my sites have pages like .php?string=value
which are well indexed by google but now have no PR rest of the site has a PR5.
They used to get a PR 2 but since last month they don't even have a 0 its greyed out.
Their is nothing wrong with the page for example no Spam and completely unique, it just seems that Google will follow and index them but not put them through the PR counter.
I would like to know if this is the case and if it effects our chances of high rankings when some pages have this structure.
When my host allows us to rewrite urls I will use it but until then it seems unfair.
PR on my main page went from 4 to 5and PR of links page went from 3 to 4, which is good, so that means PR has been updated on pages which already had PR. However, the new pages still show no PR and do not show up on the SERPs.
Has anybody had PR added on new pages?!
Weirdness
---------
Most pages linking from the front page are PR 5 which I am happy with - HOWEVER, a few of the pages (which have been there since the site has started) still have PR 0 (and some of these link from the front page too). So thats weird.
My site of about 100 pages, of these 100 pages about two weeks ago they were all in googles index. Now, only 28 pages are indexed by google!. Not sure what would cause this drop! Thats also weird.
My PR6 became about by these links:
1 x PR7 (google directory)
2 x PR6
4 x PR5
1 x PR4
1 x PR2 (yes, PR2 has shown up in google links)
and to cap it off, my previous PR2 rating to PR6, and now my traffic has fallen today since the update! and thats weird.
One last thing I noticed too, when you first add a site to Google, I think there must be some kind of default page rank involved, or ranking method. This is because before the site had any PR at all, I was in the top ten for some search terms. It then got updated to PR2, and these search terms it had gone to position 80 or 90 in the results.
Thats my two cents!
Cheers
Odd thing bout this update is a site has a PR5 and I can't see why, it has one link. Both the sites are about 'certain widgets' so its in the same neighborhood. Could it be cause it dominates for that neighborhood and not the links themselves?

I'm happy. My hobby site surged forwards with about 30% more inbounds, pushing safely past the 2k mark. Back to PR 7 for me. Yay.
It doesn't seem that any pages added in the last two weeks are in the update though. Pages added 15 or more days ago are in. Confirm?
Exactly the case for me. I had links from a pr6 site to two different sites - both PR0, one had been around for five weeks, the other for 10 days. The one that's been around for five weeks is now pr5, the other is pr0. Next update?
