steveb, I believe the 64.x.x.x data center has the change, but I'm not positive. We use different terminology inside Google. :)

Powdork, I'm not sure if you'd call it an update exactly (different algorithms play more of a role than different data). But I'm guessing the change will probably roll out over the course of the weekend.

... i am sure he was like 99 percent sure to say something like that.

I think 64.x is the one based on GG's posts and my serps observations.

>I think with the recent hate speach about google, he would just say nothing. of course there are never any guarantees---Google could change their mind, but i am sure he was like 99 percent sure to say something like that. I totally disagree that 216 has settled

I am not convinced anything is settled. Including what is currently on 64.xx. GG never promised that the 64.xx SERPs wouldn't change by the end of the dance. The fat lady has not yet sung.

Ok, I'm going to go watch TV.
Now 216 is showing up on www/www2/www3, 64 is nowhere to be seen.

Too much stress for me, why bother! I advise everyone else do the same, just like the old days... we gotta wait it out :).

Just like GoogleGuy is doing right now.

Well, 216 also looks good. If anything a little less spammy than 64. They're both improvements, and I'm one of the minority who thought the serps looked quite good after Austin.

There definitely was a change on 64 twelve hours after the results first appeared, and the 64's are a little different, and results change all the time. When GG says he expects they will move over, you can basically take that to the bank. And you can also take to the bank the the results will tweak and move around and be freshed up constantly.

>If 216 IS the new update, Google is headed for the same fate as the eight track tape and drive-in theaters.

Hmm...for the SERPs I have been checking, 64 and 216 are about equal in quality. I'd expect equal user satisfaction with either.

www is fed from many datacenters. What you you are seeing is not what the rest of us see.

Since this morning 64 has been the same here. Checking 216-98 and 99 for the past 10 minutes for the same terms show 216-98 now having same results as 64 with 216-99 alternating between post Austin and current 64.

During that time I checked www and got the 64 results a couple of times so it looks from here like GG was telling it straight and 64 is moving.

dumbguy...(i feel politically incorrect saying that;)

But yes, I believe the articles and links are helping. I have a PR6 with 103 backlinks...64.**** is showing me ruling the roost.

Well I can't believe it. Im back at position #2, where I was pre-florida. I got rid of one H1 tage back in December, but reverted to the original copy as it did not make any difference.

Well surprize, surprize, after three months of bouncing from page 1,2,3,4 and oblivium, im back at page 1, position #2 where I always been for 5 years, before florida. And I have done virtually nothing. I have been busy adding new product, that does not get indexed because our site is dynamic and only the home page gets indexed.

I have been using PPC to supplement my traffic, and have been to busy with other things to worry about SEO.

Im going to stick with the do nothing, to improve your google results tactics. As it is sure working for me.

The difference between 64 and 216 looks to me as if 64 uses less filtering then 216. I think that it shows that Google has a index to which it later adds the filter. When the filter is applied the results appear like Austin or Florida updates. Now it seems Google is testing how much filter to apply. With Austin, there was too much. I think however Google still might want to filter commercial sites, in favor of Adwords sales, but not to the extreme of Austin, in favor of appearing relevant.
Regardless, this will not be a success until the filter is removed altogether and real content sites (commercial or not) rule again.
