Pagerank updated?

Has anyone noticed PageRank being updated?

No Sid, I haven't seen any recent. I've got some new pages up that are doing OK but no PR is showing yet. They were put up on Dec. 7th.

Are you seeing any, and if so from when are they?

I haven't seen PR change nor freshbot for a while, but I have noticed something with regards to page rank that I never realized before.

I redesigned a site for a company and then translated it into different languages with different domain names for them. The original site had a PR of 4 and provided the only link to the new domains. Both the new domains immediately got PR of 3. It's the first time I've noticed this. Usually it takes some time before new domains acquire PR.

No all of my new inner pages have not picked up any PR. I think that it was 2nd December that i uploaded new pages.

When someone posts a datacenter where PR is updated, then that will be when PR is updated. Till then it has been a couple weeks since it was last updated.

I just noticed significant PR changes on my site. All upwards fortunately and in line with what I was expecting :)

But then as I was halfway through checking, the pages reverted to the old values. :(

So what can cause this?

Backlinks updated on -gv - so presume PR is as well.

But so what, SERPS still c**p!

There is some fluctuation going on. Since my last post the new PR came back. It stayed for long enough for me to do some checking, but has just reverted to the old PR.

I am not bothered about SERPS at the moment, only interested in the PR. I have some new deep inbound links and the new PR appears to be taking them into account. Just hoping the new PR comes back again and stays for good.

Some of the internal pages on my main site went from PR5 to PR6 on www-gv.google.com. Backlinks for that site went from 228 to 700+.

The PR fluctuating PR increases I mentioned are on www, or at least the www we get in the UK. So where is -gv located?

Yes - I have massive PR updates across my board, tonnes of sites affected - many new backlinks are also showing.

All data from www.

Occasionally its showing the old pr, every hour or so for a few minutes.

This is still kinda old data. Strangely the backlinks are bit more up to date than pagerank. Some newish pages that will be PR5 next time still have white bars even though they do show their new backlinks.

I havent seen any change in page rank, then again I HAVE NO PAGE RANK! hehe. Sorry for shouting, but I cant figure out why. I haqve at least 4 or 5 4+PR sites linking to me and 30 or so others with low PR, but still no PR for me :(

DJFlite, how long has your site been up? And is your navigation OK, does your homepage have spiderable links into the interior pages and do they link back?

It seems in this new Google Update things are going back to normal! By normal I mean no more OOP filter junk going on, I'm seeing pages using all the old optimizing methods getting top ranks again and it looks like search queries are being restored to their pre-OOP rankings!

Oh I am so happy!

In the wake of this information, can anyone suggest the same results coming in?

I've still got 2 sites buried for certain keywords, haven't come back yet.

When you say pages with the old "optimizing methods" are you referring to on-page factors or off-page, like repetitive keyword-stuffed anchor text?

All backlink from a big link seller(PR7) doesn't show up in -gv.
Guess google has taken some action to avoid ppl selling PageRank.

Marcie, my site has been up for a year now and I have a site map and quick links on the bottom of every page. Google visits my site about 150 times a month but hasnt given me any page rank. Not even the home page

DJFlite, you've probably checked this already, but your situation sounds odd, so best to ask...

Have you tried doing a Google search of your index page URL, without the www on the front of the domain name, to see if anything appears?

That is to say: search "site.com" rather than "www.site.com" and see if that finds anything. If the highest PR page that links to you has done it with <a href="http://site.com">site</a> then that would give the Page Rank to the wrong URL and you wouldn't see the PR on www.site.com.

before the florida update searching on google for www.mysite.net would come up with a few other sub pages uder it. Now it doesnt even appear no matter what you search for.

All my incoming links point to the right address.

When my site was up on google pre florida, when I asked google what pages linked to my site it would miss some of the sites with lower page rank but the higher ones showed up. I still had no page rank though.

I think google hates me.

Im redesigning the whole site and am going to see if that helps.

I see PR fluctuating: increasing :).

I think that in a week it will stabilize.
