When was the last PageRank update?

A site that went live on May 13, 2003 still has zero PageRank showing on the Google toolbar, and it has had several PR6 links since it went live.

When was the last time Google updated PageRank for new sites?

are you there in the SERPS for your keywords? what has been the pattern for it? is it increasing or going below?

PR has been updated 3 times since june. What I have noticed is, your serps will tell you what your pagrank will be in the immediate period. If your ranking rises straight by PR5 or more it takes time to update. If you are rising in the SERPS for your keywords your big PR update is due soon.

if for all your keywords, then yes. but you have check the new sites as well, are they better than you.

Ok, this is weird. I checked some internal pages and noticed that the "About Us" page is PR4, but all other pages are PR0. The site is on its own IP, and there isn't anything that would have resulted in a penalty.

Furthermore, if a site was penalized, the entire site would be penalized, not just a page...right?

My PR has stayed the same, but Google has indexed > 1,000 pages in the last 2 weeks (seems I fixed the bug so Google could spider more pages). Only problem is I do not appear in the SERPS for any keyword phrases where I used to be in the top 10. The site is still in the index and appear for some very specific searches ... traffic is down 80%.

Oh, and people are reporting in the Florida update thread that PR seems to have updated on some of the datacenters in the past day or so.

Toolbar pagerank updated yesterday and today.

Actual pagerank probably last updated with the last backlinks update a couple of weeks ago.

I'm getting exactly the same thing. Here's my situation

* Site launched on 14th September
* Up until today every page has had a white PR0
* When the site appeared in directory.google.com, it showed as PR1 on the directory listing
* Today, 1 internal page has PR4, all others have PR0 still

I suspect it's just Florida checking through everything. I expect every page will have PR with 24 hours.

Oct 26 was indeed the last update start. I've been watching the new PR come and go since last night, but it now seems solid on -va.

If you modify your host file, -va seems to show some solid PR changes for the several dozen sites I've reviewed so far here in the U.S. [216.239.37.100]

Thanks for that netguy. I just updated my hosts, and just as I suspected, my new site is PR4 throughout (except for the pages that google hasn't had a chance to index yet.

A nice bonus is that my personal home page is now PR5. Nice!

espeed, a link: search on your site reveals no backlinks, so it's probably just a matter of waiting whilst Google registers them. I get PR0 on the About Us page, even from -va.

You also have quite a few links with "id" in them, which you might want to avoid if possible. If you do an allinurl: search on your site, you'll notice all the urls with "id" in have no snippets, which to me suggests they've been indexed but haven't been crawled (can't see any GoogleBot specific restriction in your robots.txt). Just a thought.

I have noticed that, just like new pages, things take time to come into the google index.

Further, I have a new site with one page a certain prN, and it is one link away from index.html, then onc can assume that the site will be >=prN+1. Unless of course you have some good deep linking to the page in question.

A big "Amen" to Martinibuster and bether2! I agree that the last PR update was Oct. 26. I was watching very carefully from the 15th onward, and that was when we saw it pop.

Sorry for the long post, but I'm trying to connect numerous dots:)

I also saw a change in PR today for some of the pages on my main site. The index page is still a PR7, but about half of the 40 or so tier-two pages went from PR6 to PR7. A bit of digging showed that this seems to be the results of external, incoming textlinks (two months old) that G hadn't picked up (or factored in?) previously.

For what it's worth, since 10/12, I checked the "contains the term" backlinks on all (I think I've got them all) the datacenters, on a daily basis. 0n 10/12, I saw a huge jump in G's count (up to 400%) on most of the datacenters. the numbers dropped down below the 10/12 results on the 20th.

Since 10/26, the backlinks synched on all the servers, and the"contains the term" results climbed steadily until 11/17 when they showed a small (about 2%) dropped on all the datacenters with the exception of -ex.

Can anyone out there suggest any correlation between these observations?

Yeah, I'm still showing PR0 :(. Google shouldn't have a problem with URLs like /some/path/browse?category_id=1 -- it has always crawled URLs of this form on my other sites.

Since the URL had been registered before, I wonder if the previous owner submitted a removal request. Regardless, I have sent numerous reinclusion requests over the last few months, but nothing has changed.

I agree with NetGuy. Just checked my backlinks on the va datacenter and yes the results are different. My educated guess is that this data will filter through to other datacenters soon.

Even I am seeing the same stuff, my about us page, contact us page are PR 5 but my index page still pr 2, when can I expect (N+1) theory for my index page.

When did all these things happened , I was watching the index page, never thought that the inner pages will get a PR update before the index page.

I am nowhere in SERPs though, from #55 to #113 and from #88 to #642. goodies and badies, all in the game.

I checked and I have around 100 backlinks but most of them are my own pages.

But only few of my pages are above pr 4, does google show pages with less than pr4 under backlinks?

Backlinks are also shown as 0

Yet . . . there are good links to it from several PR4 and 5 sites, which show up in a search on relevant keywords.

Are backlinks and PR updated simultaneously, or interdependent in some other way
