No onsite links showing in backward links

Just checked the backward links on one of my sites, and was shocked to see the link count had dropped by more than a 100. On closer inspection I found just one link from the site itself. The other 100 onsite links were not showing up. But this is just with one site. All my other sites still show all links from the same site.

Has anyone else experienced this? is it new? if it's something that's been talked about can someone point me to the thread.

Did the internal site pages drop below a PR4 with the last update? That will keep them from showing up in your backlinks.

Also, check at the very end of your list of backlinks for "In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the XX already displayed. If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included." This might result in the rest of your internal links showing up.

this is happening to some of our sites as well
It is a google thing, we too have lost 85 good solid links to our site - all PR4

This isn't really about missing back links. It's missing onsite back links. All the previous external links are showing. Just only one link from the site itself which has over 100 pages in the index all PR5 or more.

But does look like a Google thing. Though wondered if it's the shape of things to come.

i think this is a google thing and it cover links from internal and external sources.

wouldn't worry about it too much, concentrate on the SERPS - the back links we see will already be out of date in terms of what Google is using to calculate the SERPS - IMO

Link count went up, but all the external links previously showing have now disappeared, and they were replaced only by internal links and two external links.

This sounds like what I've been experiencing with one of my sites.

Previously, if I did a search for link: www.mysite.com, I'd get several pages, and the results on most of them were the interior pages of the site.

Over the last few days, I noticed that if I did a search on link: www.mysite.com, the number of pages (mine or others) had declined to just two or three.

So, I did an allinurl: www.mysite.com search, and came up with oodles of results, including interior pages that had never shown up in any kind of search.

I'm soooo confused. But, for the moment, I'm happy.

Best as I can tell the back links are about 6 weeks behind. I have somewhere around 41 internal links showing as back links, but 118 or so returns with an allinurl. Those extra 60 pages were put up in the past 6 weeks.

Still, PR is up, as are SERPS across a wide range of terms. Who's to complain...

My PR 4 index page has internal backlinks showing with PR 2. The PR 4 is new, it was 2 a week ago. Is there a different way of determining whether internal backlinks are shown other than the PR 4 minimum?
