Has anyone noticed in the last couple of days that some message boards and news items have popped up on the first page? On my main keyword, where Google has been very stable in the last month, suddenly 3 pages with this type of content has popped up actually bumping a solid #1 page to #5. What gives?

there has been some talk of similar happenings recently

a lot of people have mentioned amazon and ebay results showing up in the serps recently. some put it down to an increased ability on google's part to spider dynamic content, others to a more spider friendly restructuring of the sites themselves, or changes to their affiliate programs such that PR is passed through affiliate links.

all are possibilities, but if it seems that news stories and message boards are showing up more also, increased ability to spider dynamic content is the most logical explanation.

I've also seen an increase in Spam. Especially the "search" directory type spam. Now that we don't have a next update per se, I wonder how long until Spam Reports get looked at. Hopefully fairly quickly <g>.
