I have some white text on the page, but it's on a blue background, and I also have my main keyword weighted fairy heavy. I think it's about 12%.
My questions are:
1) Is it possible that white text made Google think I was hiding text? (Can it see that it's contrasted against the blue background)
2) Can 12% weight on an individual keyword run the bot off?
3) Is it normal for a first time visit by google to just peek in the door and run off for a while?
4) Am I prematurely panicking and do I just need to relax and take a good dose of patience?
Love the forum and thanks for your input,

I won't quote your 4 points as the answer is unnaffected, and half a dozen people will come in and say the same anyway - relax. Yes, you're over-reacting.
This is all normal. If you have white text against a blue background set to blue in HTML then no problem.
Google has just grabbed your index page as a result of your inbound links. It'll be back, but you need patience - getting into the index "properly" takes a little time.
You may end up with a "fresh" listing very soon and see yourself in the "index", but you're not really in the index - it's just a "fresh" listing.
You may shortly afterwards completely vanish again and want to panic - don't - this is also quite normal.
Have patience, keep working in inbound links and in a couple of months you'll start to see the real rewards.

The old "Patience is a virtue" line, sure holds true when it comes to Google.
Thanks again all,

Build it (right) and they will come.
