Hi,
It's possible that a page with less Keyword Density that my page go in front of me on google?
And if this is correct, Why?
There are web pages which have a PR 0. Why?
What are the other critters that google uses?
Thank you.

Loas of sites first online after April 15th still do not show any PR, and might not do so for a few more weeks yet.

Keyword density. Umm, I have never even looked at it, and care even less about it. I just write stuff that visitors might like to read.

Absolutely; it happens all the time. Keyword density is just one of many factors in the ranking algorithm, and certainly not the most important at Google.

So if it's not the most important, may I know, please, which are the most important factors.
Thanks

A few other important factors are the text in the link to your page (especially inbound links), title, and H1-tag but there are many more factors.

BTW, the keyword density can also be too high! Above some limit it might not work as good.

Sorry...Not related. But does one have to be a subscriber to start a post? Started two over the last week and they never appeared. All content within the TOS too.

Thanks You.

A thread started in Forum 3 (Google News) will be first put on hold. Threads started in other fora are usually not put on hold. AFAIK being a subscriber won't make any difference. It is up to the moderators to decide if a thread is deleted or not.

Somebody must be on vacation then?

Since it can't get past approval for some odd reason here was my question.

Two word competitive keyword phrase in my industry and one particular site ranks #3 with no meta tags(not important as I understand with google) but has a title named "HOME." Very little site content with only ten pages. Nowhere on the page is the keyword phrase. An eight year old could build a better site...it's pretty ugly lookin' Everything about the site in regards to SEO is lacking. I'm guessing the rank must have alot to do with incoming links as the name of the company has the two word phase in it?

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, fmilitaru!

There are over 100 factors that Google takes into account when ranking sites. Brett has written an excellent discussion of how to buila a Successful Site in 12 Months with Google Alone [webmasterworld.com]. For another discussion see the thread on 100 variables [webmasterworld.com].

Your own explanation makes a lot of sense.

Linking text can be very important for Google - The site being small may also help as Page Rank is not spread to thinly.

Although some posts are OK as far as TOS are concerned if topics have recently or oftenly been covered then they may not get approval - if your post therefore does not gain approval try a site search :)

Dayo:

Yea, I think I have answered my own question. Amaizing how important incoming text link must be. This looks like a case that it may be the most important factor to ranking...BUT I check alltheweb.com for the site in question with the query....

link.all:www.siteurl.com

....and there's nuttin? Nothing shows. It doesn't make sense.

It is best to join an existing thread not start a new one.

This foum has been seeing 100 active threads per day. Too many.

That is the best way however I've recently found that threads that haven't been posted to since only May of this year are now closed.

Try allinanchor:search query (Google)

For alltheweb just type in the url in the search box and it will give you your various options
