Will a password protect portion of my site get indexed?

No links or other way to find it - can google still spider it?

I'm in the process of creating a members only section of my website. Individuals will have to pay a small fee after which they will be emailed a user name and a password.

My question is this - If I have no inbound links going to this portion of the website - if there is no way to get it through the free portion of the site - will google still be able to spider the pages?

I do not want google to find this section because it contains valuable information that I would like to charge for. How do I make sure that these pages do not end up in the google index?

Thanks for your help!

<META name="robots" content="NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW"> on each page should do it or put the pages in a folder and disallow the folder in the robots.txt

I have a password protected (simple password script) site that doesn't have a robots.txt nor the meta disallow on any pages and to my knowledge, Google's never indexed it.

As long as you need to fill out a log-in form to get in, I believe it should be safe... Googlebot certainly isn't clever enough to fill in forms yet. :)

And even when she learns how to fill out forms, how will she know the password?
