Changes in number of links found by inurl?

Seems to be a gradual decrease in inurl links

I check inurl:domain.com+-site:domain.com every day or two as one indication of any forthcoming changes in the Google index. I've noticed a gradual but continuing reduction in this measure over the last week - starting at 325, and dropping in steps to a current 263.

I have no idea what this means, as my SEO skills are fairly basic. Has anyone else noticed this? Does anyone know what it means - if anything?

I have noticed it, but to be honest haven't paid much attention to the timeframe. It does NOT indicate an update, but I have an unfounded, highly speculative suspicion that certain types of links may be ignored and/or not pass on any Page Rank.

No foundation in research or fact, just my suspicious, paranoid nature. Still, I'm looking things over carefully.

I also have noticed the number of pages dropping this past week. Starting at a high of 320 and now showing 179. I haven't seen a spider on our site for 3-4 days either:(
I hoping to see some change in the a.m. (that's usually when the update shows).

Instead of allinurl try site:domain.com -qwerrewssddsdf (you can replace "qwerrewssddsdf" with any unique string you're sure won't be in any page). That will be more accurate according to Googleguy.

I've seen the number of backlinks go down in some cases.

I've seen a change in the number of backlinks to the homepage both from within the site, and from other sites as well, using link:www.domain.com

It's time to start thinking about changing navigation and doing a little re-routing.
