PHP Nuke no longer #1 for God

But another strange selection by G

Many webmasterworlders will know that PHP Nuke has been in first place on Google for the term 'god' for some time now.

I just noticed that it's been knocked off the top spot - with a rather strange selection I might add.

Meta refresh anyone? Surely there are better (and less p*rn sponsored) 'God' sites than this? Might try and optimise for it myself...

Maybe this message belongs in foo?

the one i get here is a .co.uk site giving free downloads of the new testament...

i'd say that's a lot better fitting than php nuke!

How does PHP Nuke get in the first place? I don't see god mention at all...

Perform the search and check the cache

#1 clearly is a spammer. As for PHP Nuke, either someone Googlebombed this to the top, or somehow the word "god" is associated with PHP Nuke. I'm guessing the former.

Apparently, a large religious group was Googlebombing at one time. Maybe someone is counter-Googlebombing them?

On the other hand, with about 3,000,000 inbound links, some of them are bound to include an unusual - or not so unusual - word, no?

it would be necessary to invent Him."

I'd have thought we'd have created God in an image better than PHP-Nuke though. ;)

Sometimes when we get on this topic I get the impression we will never be happy with google's choice for this query. Somehow, we expect the #1 result to actually be god (or at least his/her website). It would be a pretty good webmastery type job, except for the bein' dead part.

It occurs to me that perhaps Google is intentionally steering clear of a particular church or religion ranking 1 here. A separation of church and search, so to speak.

from memory "god" is the default username for the administrator in this phpnuke CMS. I can see a couple of ways of how this may have caused good link pop for that phrase.

Interesting point Powdork. If #1 was the site of any specific faith, some of different faiths might find that worse.
