Getting Google Penalty lifted

Hi everyone,

I have just invested in a name off an auction site that has
a PR of 0. I am sure it has a zero PR because it used to be
redirected towards the auction site that sold it, etc.
Now that there is no redirect on the name and that there
is a proper site built and new owner is there any way to
get the penalty lifted?

Thanks for any advice.

WisdomSeeker

ps I cannot just ditch the name as it is a very important
address and I am sure it will do well in the long run, etc.

From [google.com...]

(a bunch of things) may result in permanent removal from our index. If you think your site may fall into this category, you might try 'cleaning up' the page and sending a re-inclusion request to (help@google.com). We do not make any guarantees about if or when we will re-include your site.

Just to let you know, though, "I am the new owner of this domain" isn't going to win you any sympathy. The statements made by "Googleguy" on these forums have been pretty clear that it's up to the buyer to check out a domain's history before they buy it.

Before you give up, you probably want to determine if the domain is actually banned, or just has no PR because it's never been used, or there are no links pointing to it.

check your backlinks
submit to addurl
check previous content using the wayback machine
and do try a reinclusion request :-)

good luck with it!
