I've just put a new site up last week. Its been approved by Yahoo! (paid) and by a couple of other SE's. Its had Googlebot round to look at a couple of dozen pages. Hoew long does it take at the moment to show up in the serps?

Some people report being in within days, others say that it still takes a full month. Sites I have been involved with are still mostly in the latter group.

I purchased a forum last week and now most of my threads are listed on [google.com...] and [yahoo.com....]

Put up a site last week, and already in/out of google.
however the wy to find out is not by doing a search for domain.com - but instead pages containing:
"yourdomain.com" or "other specific text on your site/page"
