Can Google follow a php link in a directory listing?

I have run across several online B2B directories that use a link format similar to this:

www.theirdomain/modules.php?name=weblinks&lid=602.

I assume a LinkID 602 in their Weblinks DB for a lookup of the listers url.

Does Google resolve this type of link (to my clients site) as to be considered a back link?

Jon_king,

There have been a few discussions about this recently.

It seems that the thinking around this is:

Google will follow these links as long as they don't have too many querystring parameters. One or two is ok.

Google will not count a 302 redirect (temporary) redirect for PR and a backlink. Google will count a 301 redirect.

The standard PHP redirect without specifying is a 302.

I have about 15 sites that use this method and google has no problem picking them up. We also generate a static page for the SE's. Main problem is convincing your link partners that it's a valid process. We often also direct them to the static page as well.

Natim,

With that method, what type of redirect to you do? A 301 or 302?

Just trying to collect more data points.

having both a static and dynamic page with the same content will hurt your results. I'd dump the static. Speaking from experience.
