This is a little wierd. I have just discovered a site which has a PR3 page turning up in my backlinks - has anyone else noticed this or is it just another way in which PR is screwed at the moment?

Phil, I don't know that PR is screwed up, but what's showing in the toolbar isn't something we can necessarily go by. A lot of people are ignoring it now, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I've also noticed some PR3 showing in backlinks, but just because they didn't show before doesn't mean they didn't count.

What I'm wondering about is the pages that *were* PR3 that are now not showing - wondering where they're at and how much they're worth and why. But not wondering too much.

How I'm handling the current situation, specifically on a new site I'll actually enjoy doing links for (which I generally don't like) is looking for sites I really like that have products I really like and would buy myself.

I'm linking to some sites as I find them, and intend to write to people before the new site even "technically" goes live, explaining that it's in preparation and isn't indexed yet. If I truly like the sites I'll be able to say something nice about them with sincerity. I really love this new site and I want to like sites I link to as much.

I've always liked finding and linking to good sites and HATED the idea of having to do links for link-pop or PR.

Sure I'm thinking about PR, who doesn't? But I'm disregarding it personally because of not wanting to spend my time trying to figure this out when it's not even possible, and it's a relief.

The short answer is yes, I'm seeing some PR3 backlinks. :)

I have seen pr 3 and pr 2 pages showing up as well as flash files. But the pr 3 and 2 pages pointing at my site are not showing up which leads me to believe it is a toolbug.

What about the Flash files? If there's a page with a regular link and a Flash link to some site, does Google count those as two links even though they're on the same page?
