Do a search for the keywords you want, then append &num=100 to the search URL in the browser address bar. You'll now get 100 results per screen, and can quickly scroll through each page.
Google only shows the first 1000 results, so you only have 10 screens to look at anyway.
Try the Google Web APIs [google.com] service (click the link under '2. Create a Google Account').
It's free but for non-commercial use only. It lets you input your url and then loads of keyword phrases and shows you where that url ranks for each phrase. Very useful.
And best of all you can put www.widgets.com as your url and 'free widgets' and it will include all pages in the site, not just the home page, listing your highest ranked page for 'free widgets'.
It's pretty cool :)
Then go to <snip> to use it as I described :)

[edit reason] No tools or accessories of any kind, please. [/edit]
I'm looking for my position among 120,000 returned results for my keyphrase
while you may get (1/2) clicks a month from a listing past page 2, i'd say in the vast majority of cases SERPS outside the top 20 are of little importance - you'd do better spending time getting them into the top 20 than figuring out schemes to find the SERPS at #135 ;-)
-- freeware on my PC:
I don't know if it really works (ie., accurate) or not, or if it is even possible to be accurate, or if the results are relevant, etc.,
but I use it for 'reassurance' anyway. ;-/

What I suggest, set your perferences to 100 search results per page. Then use this URL: [google.com...]
And manually find the positions.

Hello Everyone
Question regarding new website and indexing. I have a new website that just got indexed in June 2003.
I was wondering with every index that comes and goes after the initial indexing can I expect more traffic to my website?
I was told by professionals in the business that the longer your site is on the internet the more traffic and links you will get, and then to expect a max-out in about 6 months to 1 year.
Would someone be so kind to elaborate on this subject. I need to be educated on this so I know what direction I need to go in.
Someone's utmost attention on this subject would be very much appreciated. Happy belated 4th everyone. Thanks!

That sounds about right if you just want to build a site and put it on autopilot. However, there are no limits if your goal is to keep working on the site.
joe, go back and re-read page one.
<snip>
But whether Google has many indexes and data centers and all the other technical details that I read about but never understand makes me wonder whether results for a particular keyword/phrase really signify much.

I thought it would be ok to mention a Google API tool and say 'hey it works for me'.

"No Tools sites or urls please. The explosion of Google related free and commercial site tools has opened a flood gate of url dropping to "tools" sites. Therefore, we request you don't post links to "Google tools" (there are dozens if not hundreds of them now as a result of the Google API)."
